Quilts of ValorQuilts of Valor

On October 15th, during the monthly meeting of Sussex County, Delaware, Chapter 1105, representatives from Quilts of Valor awarded a handmade quilt to Nick Panco.

The presentation included a ceremonial draping of the quilt around his shoulders and back. It is symbolic of lifting the service member from battle and healing his wounds. Panco, normally quite shy, visibly glowed. This public gesture touched him, as well as all those present.

Quilts of Valor has presented 225,000 quilts since its inception. It was established by the mother of an Iraq veteran and is handled entirely by volunteers.
